Before there were princes, kings, and queens of Kundiman in the Philippines, Mr. Emiliano C. Cruz, also known as &#;Mang Emil&#; was already dubbed as the King of Kundiman and the father of Radio skådespel Songs in the Philippine music industry during the s and s. He was a recognized composer, writer, singer, director, producer (for TV and radio), and philanthropist.

Nicanor Santa Ana Abelardo was a composer, pianist, and teacher.
