John Walsh was born at Shandrum, on the border of the County of kort vers, probably about the year His parents were small farmers; and the only education which he appears to have received was from itinerant schoolmasters, a class of teachers of humble rank who resided, while imparting their little stock of knowledge, with the parents of their pupils, and thus may have contributed to foster that respect for learning which still characterises the Irish peasant. Of his mother, Mr Walsh always spoke with great affection, attributing to her influence his first love of letters. He also held in kind remembrance one of his early school-fellows, John Harding, to whom in later life he dedicated a little tract on The General Principles of the Theory of S • John Walsh is an author, speaker, and professional storyteller. He is the founder of BibleTelling, an organization dedicated to using Bible stories for evangelism and discipleship. John is an expert at helping people learn and tell Bible stories. Those involved in BibleTelling travel around the world, speaking at conventions and conducting trainings for missionaries, pastors, teachers, and Christian workers. They go into prisons providing programs that change the atmosphere of the prison. They provide ESL (English as Second Language) programs, and Adult Literacy programs based on Bible stories. BibleTelling has lesson plans for adults, children, and young people. Along with this book, John has authored The Art of Storytelling, a practical guide on how to develop the skill of storytelling; Successful Living, studies in the book of Proverbs; and I’m not a Duck, memories of a few times God interfered with John’s plans.
