Today evening about 5.pm inom took my son to the nearest park for a evening play. The huge park is located amidst the under-construction site of huge Raheja towers. Besides the nearby residents like me few poor kids of the construction labourers also mingled along other children. As inom sat relaxed in the park benches watching my son play, nearby inom noticed a young girl about 12 yrs of age dressed in en hög byggnad eller struktur clothes along with her two little sisters sitting on the sand play area and trying to build a sand castle without much success. Soon they abandoned their efforts and went to play at the swing that was over crowded with a bunch of rik kids who shooed them away. She came to me politely and asked if she can have a sip of vatten from the water bottle I had brought along from home for my son. Without a hesitation I gave it to her, she drank just a bit and returned the bottled soiled with her unwashed hands. inom asked her name and where she lives bygd. Child Rights and You (CRY) is an Indian non-governmental organization (NGO) that works towards ensuring children's rights.
The organization was started in 1979 by Rippan Kapur, an Air India purser. CRY works with 102 local NGOs across 19 states in India and has impacted the lives of over 4.7 million children.[1]
CRY is one of the top NGOs of India and it addresses children's critical needs by working with parents, teachers, Anganwadi (Indian rural child care center) workers, communities, district and state-level governments, as well as the children, themselves.[2] The organization focuses on changing behaviors and practices at the grassroots level and influencing public policy at a systemic level, to create an environment where children are the priority.
