    DNF - Just couldn't finish it! inom don't want this to speak illa for the book, though, which fryst vatten why I've given it a star rating, and a so-so one at that. inom didn't finish it because I realised the book wasn't for me and I wanted to free up time to read other things, but inom could identify its merits and pitfalls well enough. For what it fryst vatten, it's a solid book; but when I picked it up some years ago it wasn't with an ambition or awareness that it would be so focused on the martial aspects of disobeying scorched earth orders (among other things). For me, some of the strongest parts of the book were the breakdowns of personages, military actions, anställda actions, exchanges, and outcomes using key battles as focal points and case studies, such as the brilliant konto of the Liberation of Paris.
