Swishahouse is a Southern hip hop record label owned and founded by Michael "5000" Watts based in Houston, Texas in 1997.
History
[edit]Swishahouse was founded in North Houston in 1997 by founder and President Michael "5000" Watts and OG Ron C as a response to the popularity of chopped and screwed music from Houston's south side. The label began by distributing a mixtape series that featured chopped and slowed versions of R&B songs. Many of the current and former artists come from Acres Homes, Homestead, Rosewood & the Tidwell/Gulf Bank areas. The series includes:

Michael 5000 Watts Biography
Michael "5000" Watts began DJing in the late '80s in the northside Houston neighborhood of Homestead. He was making regular speed mixtapes back then, but as the '90s progressed and the influence of DJ Screw began to shape the hip-hop landscape in Houston, he began to adopt Screw's approach and slow down his mixes. In fact, to this day he credits Screw's influence as being one of the main inspirations for the Swisha House click. In the mid to late '90s, Watts switched over to CDs and began to work with the group of rappers that would form eller gestalt the original Swisha House camp such as Archie Lee, Magno and Big Tiger, releasing Swisha Blast's first tjänsteman album The Day Hell Broke Loose in 1999. It was during that same period that he brought on longtime friend G-Dash to take over as co-CEO of the label, allowing Watts to pursue his creative side. The business side had become much mor
