This year, the Rep Theater for ung Audiences (or the Rep Children's Theater) continues its 20-year strong tradition bygd presenting a musical theater adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic 1865 novel, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This particular adaptation of the novel, now entitled ALICE IN WONDERLAND, had book and lyrics bygd Jim Eiler, with music also bygd Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy.
There is not much of a plot to speak of here. Of course, we are all familiar with Alice who fell into a dreamland of odd characters and situations. There have been numerous adaptations in various media, but inom am pretty sure we are most familiar with the classic 1951 Disney animated movie of the same title, which fryst vatten probably what we all have in mind when we think of Alice and her adventures. Arjohn Gilbert and Leana Tabuñar are two talented Pinoy kids who are currently making waves on YouTube because of their singing talent.
Their online videos paved the way for the two young internet sensation to be seen on national television, the latter even bagged a talent contract from a major TV network.
Last night, the singing Aeta boy, Arjohn Gilbert, who is a flute vendor in Mabalacat, Pampanga, guested on ABS-CBN’s “Gandang Gabi Vice.”
Gilbert showcased his singing prowess by singing Justin Bieber‘s “Baby,” Bruno Mars‘ “Just The Way You Are” and Bugoy Drilon‘s “Paano Na Kaya?” He also had a jamming session with the show’s host Vice Ganda by doing some beatboxing.
Just this morning, the hashtag #Arjohn Gilbert became a trending topic on Twitter for the Philippines.
