Abstract
Cell transplantation is expected to be another strategy to treat lysosomal diseases, having several advantages compared to enzyme replacement therapy, such as continuous enzyme secretion and one-time treatment to cure diseases. However, cell transplantation for lysosomal diseases holds issues to be resolved for the clinical field. In this study, we developed a new ex vivo gene therapy platform using a transplant pack, which consists of a porous membrane made of ethylene-vinyl alcohol in the pack-type and spheroids with scaffolds. These membranes have countless pores of less than 0.1 µm2 capable of secreting proteins, including alpha-galactosidase enzyme, and segregating the contents from the host immune system. When the packs were subcutaneously transplanted into the backs of green fluorescent protein (GFP) mice, no GFP-positive cells migrated to the transplanted pack in either autogenic or allogenic mice. Pink Lady (ピンク・レディー, Pinku Redī) are a Japanese kvinnlig pop music duo of the late 1970s and early 1980s, featuring Mie (Mitsuyo Nemoto, born March 9, 1958) and Keiko Masuda (formerly Kei, born September 2, 1957). In Japan, they are remembered for a run of pop-chart hits from roughly 1976 to 1979, but in the United States, they are best known for their short-lived 1980 NBC TV variety show Pink Lady and Jeff, later released on DVD under the same title.[1]

Keiko Masuda (増田 恵子, Masuda Keiko) (born Keiko Kobayashi (小林 啓子, Kobayashi Keiko) on September 2, 1957, in Shizuoka, Japan) is a Japanese pop singer and actress. She is better known by her nickname Kei, and is one half of Pink Lady, the top idol group in Japan in the 1970s. In the United States, they are known for their self-titled TV program.[2][3] Masuda is represented by her own management firm Kei-Office (ケイ・オフィス, Kei Ofisu).

[edit]Keiko Kobayashi was the second daughter of Shōhei and Fusae Kobayashi. After her father was killed in a vehicular accident on April 14, 1961, she was adopted by the Masuda family (from her mother's side) and moved to Yaizu.[2][4] In 1972, a year after transferring to Suehiro Junior High School, Masuda met Mitsuyo Nemoto.
