  • A 43-page report released Wednesday that summarized a seven-month investigation into the Mavericks organization substantiated numerous incidents of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct within the franchise over a two-decade span.

    The independent investigation commenced in February after Mavericks owner Mark Cuban hired investigators to look into several allegations that surfaced on the business side of the organization via a Sports Illustrated story.

    The investigators interviewed 215 current and former Mavericks employees and reviewed more than 1.6 million documents and emails dating back more than 20 years that included all of Cuban's 18 years of ownership.

    DALLAS — An independent investigation released Wednesday described numerous incidents of workplace misconduct within the Dallas Mavericks organization spanning more than two decades, including improper conduct toward 15 female employees by former president and CEO Terdema Ussery. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban agreed to contribute $10 million to women's causes and domestic violence awareness as part of the investigation into workplace conditions with his franchise.

    The NBA also announced Wednesday that it would require staffing, reporting and policy changes for the Mavericks seven months after a Sports Illustrated report detailed years of examples of a hostile workplace for women on the business side of the operation.

    The investigation determined the Maverick's management was ineffective, which permitted workplace misconduct to flourish. No allegations were said to have occurred on the basketball side of the organization.
