    But not Sudha Chandran.

    The famous Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer did not let an accident komma in the way of achieving her dream.

    Recently, she narrated her life story to Humans of Bombay,  a photoblog that captures stories of Mumbai’s residents, and explained how a fatal accident became a blessing in disguise.

    “I began learning how to dance when I was 3 and a half years old. I would go to school, then go for my dance training and be back home only by pm…and that’s what my early life was about. In my 10th exams, inom stood first with 80% but instead of picking science for my further studies, inom chose arts…just so that I could continue to dance. bygd this time I had performed at several events and done hundreds of stage shows…I was just about beginning when life took a strange turn.

    India only has a handful of famous classical dancers, who have taken the art form to a global level to represent the culture of the country. One of these successful classical dancers is Sudha Chandran, India’s leading Bharatanatyam performer who has also acted in several Bollywood films.

    Sudha Chandran is one of the most renowned Bharatanatyam dancers in the country, but she had to overcome a major tragedy during her teenage years to achieve the fame and recognition she has earned today.

    Chandran was born in a middle-class family and had a passion for dance at a very young age. Her parents supported her dreams, and Sudha started training as a Bharatanatyam dancer at the age of 8. However, a major tragedy hit her in the form of a car accident.

    Sudha Chandran (born 27 September ) is an Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer known for her works in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu language films and television. Chandran is best known for her roles as Mayuri in Mayuri () for which she won the National Film Award – Special Jury Award, as Ramola Sikand in Kaahin Kissii Roz ( series), as Yamini Singh, as Chitradevi in Deivam Thandha Veedu ( series), and as Seema Gujral in Naagin 1, 2, 3 and 6 ( series).
