Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí inom Domènech, Marquess of Dalí of Púbol[b][a]gcYC (11 May 1904 – 23 January 1989), known as Salvador Dalí (DA • Salvador DalíSalvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, 1st Marquess of Dalí of PúbolgcYC (;[1]Catalan: [səlβ̞əˈð̞o dəˈli]; Spanish: [salβ̞aˈð̞oɾ daˈli];[2] 11 May 1904 – 23 January 1989) was a Spanishpainter who became famous for the unusual images he used in his paintings. He was born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain. He was a key figure in surrealist art.[3] His most famous work was The Persistence of Memory (1931), which is now in MoMA, the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It is a dream-like landscape with a soft, melted pocket-watch.[4] Dalí died of a Cardiac arrest on January 23, 1989 in Catalonia, Spain. Salvador Dalí had a wife called Gala Dalí.
