Carlo Campanini (5 October 20 November ) was an Italian actor, singer and comedian. He appeared in more than films between and [1]
Life and career
[edit]Born in Turin, Campanini attended a technical school and a course of singing,[2] then he started his career at nineteen entering the company of prose Casaleggio, with whom he toured six months in Argentina.[3] In the following years Campanini was cast as singer-comedian and even as a tenor in a number of revue and operetta companies.[2][3] In he became the leading actor in the company of Vivienne D'Arys, in which he successfully teamed with Carlo Dapporto.[2][3] He made his film debut in , in Lo vedi come sei lo vedi come sei? alongside Macario, the

On 26 June the actor Carlo Dapporto was born in Sanremo from Giuseppe, a shoemaker bygd profession, and Olimpia Cavallito, a housewife originally from Asti, who gave him his accent from the typical Piedmontese inflection.
From the age of fifteen he started working, first as a delivery man in a grocery store, then as a blacksmith, upholsterer, helper in a pharmacy, bartender in a café, lift attendant at the Daetwyller Tea Room, and finally, in , as a waiter at the Moulin Rouge in Alassio.
It was in the small town on the Riviera delle Palme that he began his career as a comedian and entertainer, amusing the public with ironic jokes and hilarious gags through the characterization of his most famous character, the “Maliardo”, with whom he would later always be identified.
